- Film sizes: numerous film sizes can be loaded. A choice can be made from the following sizes:
Around the drum: always 63.5" (1612 mm)
Along the drum: starting from 28" in steps of 10" up to the maximum of 96.5" (2450 mm).
Maximum: 96.5" x 63.5" (2450 x 1612 mm).
- Imagesetter accuracy and repeatability: +/-0.2 mil (0.00 5mm) (film accuracy depends on environmental conditions)
- Seven dot shapes are available:
- Supported Line-screens
The ruling support depends on the angles, the output resolution, and the wanted dot shape. The user should be aware of those factors in order to be able to select a suitable ruling. The lowest possible ruling is 31 dpi, the highest possible is 449 dpi. (Note: the Monet dot shape is not determined by a screen ruling but rather by the smallest desired dot size measured in microns.)
- FastRip-compatible.
Large film sizes imply large data volumes. The GigaSetter is driven by Barco Graphic' FastRip, which is designed to keep up with its very high speed. The Barco Graphics FastRip, which runs on the DEC Alpha AXP, rips data on the fly. It is a dual channel RIP, using Barco Graphic native GRO-format for seamless integration in a Barco Graphic system and using PostScript® for the open world.
- Nominal speed and resolutions.
